The GF4 drive is adaptable: all pipe cutters are fitted as a standard with a 100-120 V, 50/60 Hz single-phase AC motor, but can be supplied with an air motor or motors with special voltage. The motor is equipped with a speed regulating device to adapt the speed of rotation to allow stainless steel pipe to be cut and beveled satisfactorily, while considerably improving tool life. Models are now available with gear-reduction drives for slower saw speed operations on hard and difficult-to-cut materials such as stainless, hastalloy, titanium, etc. The pipe cutters are very simple to operate: simply clamp a pipe of the desired length in the self-centering vise, then rotate the machine head containing the saw blade once around the pipe. For cutting and beveling stainless steel pipes, special saw blades and bevel cutters are available. The saw blades are small, inexpensive and available in different versions for different materials and wall thicknesses. By using various bevel cutters, pipe ends can be prepared for welding.
